Multi-Grammy Award-winning drummer, educator, and Renaissance Man Ulysses Owens Jr. partnered with Dragonfly to create the ultimate bass drum beater for jazz drummers and discerning players. This all-new beater offers several key updates to Dragonfly's existing beater line. 15 layers of black suede are securely layered over a lightweight aluminum tube and cap. The reduced weight delivers whisper-soft dynamics for piano trios and jazz singers, while delivering massive punch for kick drums in big bands and heavily amplified acoustic ensembles.

The Suede offers a clean, clear sound ideal for small bop-style bass drums like 16-inch and 18-inch drums, but it also offers a warmth not found in typical felt beaters, allowing it to cut through 20-inch, 22-inch, and even 24-inch bass drums with punch and tone. This beater also maintains tonal consistency across all head shapes, including calfskin, fiberskin, calftone, and Ambassador Mylar heads. Finally, it has the power to amplify through clear and pinstripe heads. While primarily designed from the perspective of a jazz drummer, Ulysses spends a lot of time producing and recording in the studio, and this beater significantly improves the sound of bass drums intended for recording. Many products are stocked across Ikebe stores in Japan. As a result, shipment may take several days. In-store sales may also cause items to sell out. If an item is unavailable, we will contact you promptly; in that case, the order will be canceled and any payment will be refunded.

■ Shipping

We ship via FedEx. Shipments are fully insured against damage or loss during transit.
