Description
Description
We now have used Historic Select guitars in stock, a custom-order lineup based on the True Historic series, which is still immensely popular even though it has been discontinued!
As this is a used item, there are some dents, scratches, and dull paint due to wear, and the cherry color on the neck and back of the body has faded, but the frets are barely worn and there are no problems with the truss rod or electrical system. The metal parts have been aged from the start.
Enjoy the sound response and rich, transparent tone that make this the Les Paul sound!
Historic Select is a custom order based on the True Historic, a new vintage reissue that was finally released in 2015! It offers exclusive specs that are only available through Historic Select, such as custom colors and parts selections not available on True Historic, and models made with luxurious materials. The serial number on the headstock does not use the Historic serial number, as it indicates a custom order.
[True Historic]
The True Historic (Historic Select) series is a collection of Gibson's meticulously crafted reissue models from the 1950s and 1960s.
This will be the most elaborate reissue of Gibson guitars made in the 1950s and 1960s, with a predetermined annual production run.
True Historic tackles areas that were previously impossible to achieve through mass production due to production efficiency and cost constraints, resulting in the ultimate reissue that maximizes the tone, looks, and playability of vintage guitars, and even captures the sensory aspects such as feel and style.
The True Historic (Historic Select) series goes beyond refining existing products. Highly skilled craftsmen were selected from within the shop specifically for this project, and many of the processes were performed by hand, carefully checking the finish at every step as they crafted the guitars. This project was a product of Gibson Custom's extraordinary commitment to elevating historic reissues to the next level. Unfortunately, the Historic Collection has now been revived, and Edwin Wilson has since left Gibson.
■ True Historic Plastics & Pickup cover
Plastic parts such as toggle switch caps, toggle switch washers, jack plates, pickguards, pickup mounting rings, and control knobs, as well as pickup covers, give the guitar a vintage look.
■ Double-Carved Top
The delicate vintage top shape was precisely reproduced using a new process based on 3D scanning data from a vintage-style guitar. The beautiful body top shape, including the flat area in the center of the body and the recessed areas on the side edges, stands out in the reflection of light.
Neck Carve
As with the top curve, the precise vintage shape was reproduced using vintage 3D scanned data.
■ Matching Body and Neck
The neck and body are finished using precise woodworking techniques that combine the latest technology with the skills of dedicated craftsmen, and the color and grain pattern of the wood are matched to ensure the best possible finish when the mahogany is sealed and stained.
■ Original Thinner Holy Peghead Veneer
The thickness of the veneer on the head has been refined, and it has been changed to a thinner veneer like the original.
■ Complete Finish Overhaul
The thin paint, achieved by using high-quality lacquer and reviewing the entire painting process, from the base treatment to the number of coats, improves the body resonance and paint quality.
■ Playability
The frets, fingerboard, and neck binding are painstakingly and meticulously processed by dedicated craftsmen to enhance the player's feel and playing comfort. In particular, the rolled binding, which is the curved surface that connects the edge of the neck binding to the neck shape, feels comfortable in the hand, just like a vintage guitar that has been played for a long time.
■ Hide Glue Top Construction
Hide glue is also used on the top and back of the body, bonding the neck to the body, the fingerboard to the neck, and the body top to the body back with glue, which transmits string vibrations throughout the entire guitar, enhancing the sound.
■ New Multi-Step Setup
The final setup process after assembly has been revised to ensure that players can enjoy playing in the best possible condition.
Genuine hard case, certificate, normal back plate, etc.
