The HSR-102 is the successor to the previous model, the HSR-CU, which combines proven performance with proven performance. However, the HSR-102 is more than just a successor. It is a new model that incorporates numerous improvements to the 40mm wire, including conductor, insulation, flexibility, and static electricity. The main conductor is equipped with 102 SSC, which achieves flatter, stress-free transmission.
The innovations from previous models don't stop at the conductor. The insulating material, which determines sound quality, uses a special ultra-flexible resin that combines flexibility with reduced static electricity. Additionally, the conductor structure is twisted rope for improved flexibility. The HSR-102, which combines sound quality and usability, is a shell lead wire that can be widely recommended for anyone, from those just starting to enjoy records to those who have been listening for a long time.
■Precision conductor 102SSC
The cable conductor is the most important factor in determining the quality of Oyaide Electric's audio cables. The HSR-102 uses Oyaide Electric's original precision conductor, 102 SSC, which has been praised by audiophiles worldwide. Based on JIS C1011 oxygen-free copper base material, it is crafted with the world's highest level of technology and quality, including a peeling process that removes 100% of impurities from the copper wire surface, manufacturing control with 1μm precision, and a wire drawing process using natural diamond dies to enhance the wire's surface smoothness.
The HSR-102 uses the precision conductor 102 SSC, which completely removes impurities from the conductor surface and has an extremely high-precision, smooth conductor surface, allowing it to transmit music smoothly and without loss of audio signal.
■Ultra-Flexible Special Resin The HSR-102 uses a new, ultra-flexible special resin for its insulation, boasting unprecedented flexibility. Compared to the fluororesin insulation of previous models, this ultra-flexible special resin is less susceptible to static electricity. This reduces static-induced noise and significantly improves the signal-to-noise ratio. Combined with the superior transmission performance of the 102 SSC precision conductor, this contributes greatly to the reproduction of musical detail. Additionally, the HSR-102's ample flexibility allows for smoother headshell-cartridge attachment, even when subjected to sudden bending.
The shell lead tip of the HSR-102 is made of phosphor bronze, which has excellent spring properties. This enhances contact adhesion and minimizes contact loss. Furthermore, 24K gold plating prevents oxidation over time and ensures stable conductivity, while also enhancing the rich sound image that gold plating provides. An insulating tube is attached to the tip to prevent unwanted short circuits. The connection to the cable is made using a solderless crimping method.
■Handling If it is difficult to insert the terminals of the headshell or cartridge into the terminals on the lead wire side, use an awl or similar tool to fine-tune the inner diameter of the shell tip so that the terminals on the lead wire side can be properly fixed.
If you forcefully insert the lead wire, it may break and become disconnected. When installing, be careful to hold the base of the terminal.
