Description
A great deal on a used, USA-made Martin! It's been fully refinished to create a one-of-a-kind jet black body!
When this instrument arrived at our store, the back bracing was found to be peeling, but it has been thoroughly repaired at an affiliated workshop.
We also replace the nut, adjust the saddle, and set it up at the same time, so the playability is unimaginable considering its age.
Although there is some wear, especially on the low frets, the refinish means there are not many signs of wear such as dents or scratches.
What's most noteworthy is the all-black color.
The D-16GT is usually natural in color, but this one is wrapped in a jet black veil that exudes a chic and modern atmosphere.
The surface has a matte finish, which is designed to make dirt and fingerprints that are common with glossy finishes less noticeable.
The pickguard has also been reproduced, with tortoiseshell material adding an accent to the monotone color scheme.
In terms of tone, it has a rich volume, tight bass strings, and beautiful overtones unique to mahogany.
It produces a Martin-like sound without any distortion even with intense picking, so it's sure to be an excellent match for singers who play and use a lot of strokes.
Martin has always been known as a classic acoustic guitar manufacturer, so how about a unique black color?
