FEATURED GUITARIST

My Bloody Valentine: Kevin Shields' ecstatic shoegaze sound.

The beautiful, roaring noise created by introverted musicians who once played while gazing at their own shoes—the guitar sound known as shoegaze—has now been absorbed into diverse genres, and its DNA can be felt in every corner of the modern music scene.
Tracing its origins inevitably leads back to My Bloody Valentine and the exceptional guitarist Kevin Shields.
The ecstatic sound heard on the landmark album "loveless" (1991) is nothing less than the result of his obsessive control over his equipment and his boundless curiosity.
This special feature includes an exclusive long interview with Kevin, along with a thorough analysis of his latest live system.
I will give you a tour of every corner of the fortress of noise that he has built.

SPECIAL PROGRAM
Which side are you on?
I did a thorough comparison of the Jazzmaster and the Jaguar.

The Jazzmaster and Jaguar guitars first appeared in the late 1950s or early 1960s.
Originally developed as Fender's flagship model for jazz guitarists, the Jazzmaster has since gained recognition as an iconic instrument in grunge/alternative rock, and remains popular today among young band members who prioritize edgy guitar sounds. But what are the differences between the Jazzmaster and Jaguar, which at first glance appear identical, and which instruments are best suited for which types of music?
This time, we will thoroughly compare these two models and examine their differences from multiple angles to delve deeper into the unique appeal of each guitar.
This issue features tips on how to bring out the best performance in Jazzmaster and Jaguar guitars, as well as a comparison of current models and a discussion between Yukio Nagoshi and Hisako Tabuchi—a must-see!
