Author: Ervin V. Somogyi Translated by: Oya Ken Specifications: A5 size / 408 pages

Author Profile: Ervin V. Somogyi
Born in Hungary in 1944, he opened a guitar workshop in Berkeley, California in 1972. He initially built classical and flamenco guitars, but began building acoustic guitars in the mid-1970s. He is known for his meticulous guitar construction based on scientific analysis of the acoustic guitar's structure and sound mechanism, and believes in selecting wood that takes advantage of its characteristics and artistic artwork. He also regularly takes on apprentices to train young luthiers, and has written research books on acoustic guitar mechanisms, leaving a significant impact on the acoustic guitar world. He is one of the world's greatest guitar makers.

■A word from the editor: Ervin V. Somogyi's first book in Japanese is now available. It is a compilation of his serial "The Mechanism of the Acoustic Guitar," which ran from the first issue of Acoustic Guitar Magazine (1999) until 2020. However, this book is not a typical guitar-building guide. It is a rare book that thoroughly analyzes the acoustic guitar as a structure. Highly recommended for serious guitar builders as well as serious enthusiasts. You will understand the acoustic guitar from the ground up.
The binding is designed with elegance in mind, with the theme "Like the sound of the guitar that Somogyi makes." The three-sided case with a round window is adorned with a beautiful rosette (muzzle) made by the author. This is a limited edition first edition, so be sure to pick it up.
