Kz ST Trad 22 SSH7

Kz Guitar Works has brought many highly original guitars to the world. Since our founding in 2001, we have accumulated experience and knowledge that has helped us create even better instruments. Now, on our 20th anniversary, we have reexamined the traditions of electric guitars and released the new Kz ST Trad 22 SSH7 model, aiming to share the skills and knowledge we have cultivated with even more players.

Kz Guitar Works has a lineup of highly original guitars, including the Kz One. The Kz ST Trad 22 SSH7 features an ST-style body that is familiar to most guitarists. Other traditional elements include the pickup selection and placement, and the synchronized tremolo. However, rather than the alder, ash, or maple neck commonly found in bolt-on models, this guitar uses high-quality Honduras mahogany from the workshop's stock. The neck joint differs from the standard four-point joint, employing a unique RS joint, which extends the neck-to-body connection more than twice as long as a typical bolt-on joint. The scale is the same 25-inch (635mm) as the Kz One, and the grip is the popular Slim C. This, along with the fingerboard and fret edge treatment, provides an exquisite playing experience.

Mahogany is a wood commonly used for guitar bodies and necks. Honduran mahogany has different tonal properties from the African mahogany commonly used today, making it difficult to simply compare the two. However, Honduran mahogany undoubtedly offers a rich resonance, as seen in our custom line and vintage guitars. However, due to its rarity and high price, we have prioritized its use for our custom line. This time, we used three pieces of Honduran mahogany stocked for our custom line, with the neck joint, bridge anchor, pickup, and other key components located on the center piece, avoiding any glued joints. This design ensures stability without impairing the transmission of string vibrations.
When people think of Kz Guitar Works, they probably think of the Red Special. The Red Special also features a unique neck joint. As a boy, Brian would extend the neck joint deep into the body, attaching it with one bolt from the back of the body and two screws from the top. The Kz ST Trad 22 follows this method of fastening the neck from both the top and back. Furthermore, by considering the optimal length and depth, the company has developed a joint method that maximizes the resonance of the neck and body materials.

Furthermore, the back of the body features a curved heel cut to enhance playability in the upper positions. The joint bolts are set deep, so your hands won't come into contact with them even when gripping the strings, enhancing playability. Not only is the design outstanding, but the precision workmanship and technical skill at our Zushi workshop, which prioritizes sound, are also not to be missed.
The pickups are Kz's original "KGW-Mini" and "Kz Classic Humbucker." The "KGW-Mini" produces a wide range of single-coil sounds while being significantly less noisy than typical single-coil pickups. The "Kz Classic Humbucker" is a PAF-type pickup, boasting a rich, warm clean sound with the classic Alnico 2 magnet, as well as a sweet, full, and drive sound. The controls are simple: one volume and one tone. The pickup selector is five-way, with the tone knob allowing you to coil-tap the rear humbucker, creating a total of seven different tones.
This model features a new six-piece headstock shape. The sophisticated design blends traditional and modern elements, and instead of using a brand decal, it features a Kz logo medallion at the tip, creating a fresh impression. The guitar is equipped with the Gotoh 510TS-FE1 bridge, which is becoming a standard for custom guitars due to its smooth operation, reliability, and sound. The tuners are Gotoh SG381-07-CR L6 MG-T grip lock type.

The Kz ST Trad 22 SSH7 combines innovative originality with a traditional look, and was created to bring the accumulated experience and knowledge gained since the founding of Kz Guitar Works to more players.
