Description
Description
The Les Paul Model, guitarist Les Paul's signature model, was released in 1952, but after his contract with Les Paul expired in the early 1960s, its specifications underwent major changes. This was the beginning of the history of the SG Solid Guitar series.
In the 1970s, various SG models underwent changes and additions, resulting in a wide variety of variations. This time, we have the SG Standard, equipped with two humbuckers and featuring the new '70s small pickguard.
【body】
The overall weight is approximately 3.1 kg. The familiar slim mahogany body is finished in a natural color that brings out the natural color of the mahogany. The small pickguard, a standard feature from this period, is one of its charms. While there are scratches, weathering, and fading of parts consistent with its age, the finish itself retains its luster, and while it is in relatively good condition, it still exudes the atmosphere of a vintage instrument.
【neck】
The neck is made of three-piece mahogany. The fingerboard is made of rosewood. The fingerboard position marks are block positions, a feature of standard-grade guitars from this period. There is weather checking, especially on the headstock, and minor dents around the headstock and the back of the neck, but like the body, it remains in relatively good condition. The tuners function well and show little variation in winding. The nut has been replaced, and the frets are wide and low, a feature of the original 1970s guitars. There is only slight wear, but there are currently no issues with choking or other problems. The nut width is 40.4mm. The neck shape is relatively solid.
[Electrical system]
The controls are the familiar 3-way pickup selector, 2 volume controls, and 2 tone controls found on the Les Paul/SG series. The pickups are the distinctive Gibson Super Humbucker. The pickups and other controls are in pristine condition. The pickups respond well to picking and produce a crisp, clear tone, making it versatile for a wide range of sounds, from clean to driven.
