Description

Harmony was founded in 1892 and is widely known for producing instruments such as guitars, ukuleles, banjos, and mandolins in its own factory, as well as a number of OEM products, including Silvertone.

This time, we have a two-pickup version of the "Rocket" that shipped around 1969. This popular thin archtop model features Harmony's signature DeArmond pickups.

【body】
The overall weight is approximately 2.5 kg. The 16-inch wide, thin, hollow body, known as the "Arched Tone Chamber Hollow Body," is crafted from laminated maple with cell binding. The faded sunburst color stands out beautifully. There is some weather checking, paint chipping on the body sides, scratches, and signs of use, as well as tarnish on the metal parts, but the guitar is in relatively good condition. The pickguard may have been replaced. One control knob has been replaced, and one is missing a metal plate on the top.

【neck】
The neck is made of maple with a bolt-on joint. The fingerboard is made of rosewood. The headstock features the brand logo and the model name "ROCKET." There is some paint chipping and dents around the headstock and the back of the neck, giving the guitar a vintage-inspired look. The tuners are simple but function well, with only slight variations in winding. The frets have been filed and adjusted in our shop, ensuring good playability. The cell binding around the fingerboard has also been repaired in our shop. The nut width is 45.0mm. The neck shape is evenly thick and sturdy, typical of an old bizarre guitar.

[Electrical system]
The controls are a 3-way pickup selector, 2 volumes, and 2 tones. The pickups are two highly acclaimed "DeArmond Golden Tone" pickups, so popular that many people consider owning one. Their vibrant tone with rich overtones pairs perfectly with the warm hollow body, resulting in a captivating, comfortable sound.
