Description
Description
This is the Riviera, a semi-acoustic guitar that represents the Epiphone brand and has been loved by many musicians since its introduction in 1962. The optional cherry color is a nice touch.
【body】
The overall weight is approximately 3.5 kg. The body is made of semi-hollow maple, similar to the Gibson ES-335TD. After repairs including the B-7 Bigsby tremolo unit installation marks and the switch area, and touching up dents, the guitar has been oversprayed. The cherry color has faded, resulting in a sophisticated look with overall weathering. The pickup covers are nickel-plated on the neck (front) side and chrome-plated on the bridge (rear) side. The bridge has been replaced with a reissue ABR-1. The front volume pot, output jack, pickguard "e" mark, and strap pin have also been replaced.
【neck】
The neck is made of mahogany. The fingerboard is made of rosewood. There are scratches around the headstock, weathering, and dents, but the guitar is in good condition, just like the body. Below the serial number is the "2" (the original second mark) that marked it when new, adding to the collector's heart. The tuner knobs for the 5th and 3rd strings are slightly bent and the windings are slightly inconsistent, but they function well. The frets have been replaced once, but show little wear and are highly playable. The nut width is 38.9mm, with a narrow pitch. The neck profile is relatively sturdy.
[Electrical system]
The controls are standard: a 3-way pickup selector, 2 volume controls, and 2 tone controls. The pickups are two mini humbuckers developed for Epiphone guitars, which are particularly well-suited for semi-acoustic guitars. The bridge (rear) tone knob and toggle switch have been replaced, but the other controls remain in their original condition. The guitar delivers a rich, crisp, and comfortable drive tone that's reminiscent of the Gibson PAF sound.
