■Product Features ・Neumann's latest large-diaphragm microphone at an affordable price ・A versatile studio workhorse for vocals and instruments ・Highly flexible: 5 polar patterns, multiple pad and low-cut options ・Transformerless circuitry for crystal-clear sound ・Extremely low self-noise ・Very low distortion even at the highest sound pressure levels
Versatile, uncompromising sound and innovative operation: With five polar patterns and a novel operating concept, this standard-setting large-diaphragm microphone delivers sound free of any coloration. Featuring even, impressive level handling and low self-noise, it captures everything from soft whispers to thunderous drums. Ideal for studio, broadcast and home recording.
Classic proportions combined with attractive styling and fresh ideas, the TLM 107 perfectly embodies the Neumann philosophy: innovation based on tradition. Far from evoking vintage or retro nostalgia, the benchmark-setting TLM 107 presents a strikingly modern studio microphone. Its wide performance spectrum and high-precision reproduction, very close to the original, open up the most freedom in mixing and post-production, making the TLM 107 universally applicable.
-----
The TLM 107 is a reference-class microphone delivering breathtaking realism for vocals and instruments. Five polar patterns plus variable pad and low-cut settings offer ultimate flexibility. And with a dynamic range of 131 dB, it captures everything from whispers to loud drums without unwanted noise or distortion.
Neumann has given the TLM 107 a modern look, but it retains the large, tapered headgrille of the M 49 tube microphone. Pad, low cut, and polar pattern are all accessible via a navigation switch on the back of the microphone.
The newly developed dual-diaphragm condenser capsule designed for the TLM 107 offers excellent transient response and frequency response for all polar patterns. This allows the polar pattern to be adjusted to suit the recording situation without affecting the overall sound balance – a truly revolutionary feature for a large-diaphragm microphone.
Like the other TLM series speakers, the TLM 107 operates with a transformerless circuit, ensuring an open, transparent sound and minimum bass loss, even at maximum sound pressure levels. Two low-cut settings are also provided for reducing rumble and compensating for the proximity effect in close-miking situations. Even without resorting to the two pad settings, the TLM 107 can handle very high sound pressure levels of up to 141 dB without clipping (up to 153 dB with pre-attenuation).
The TLM 107's self-noise is just 10 dB(A), meaning the TLM 107 does not add any noise or unwanted distortion to your recordings. The uncompromising sound quality of the TLM 107 makes it extremely versatile for broadcast and classical recording with a wide range of instruments, including acoustic and electric guitars, piano, upright bass, drums and percussion.
