Description
Description
It is possible to reproduce vividly even the subtlest nuances of a drummer's expression. In addition, the diaphragm has a large diameter of 29 mm, so it captures the powerful bass sound of the bass drum without any loss.
The maximum sound pressure level reaches 164dB SPL, allowing it to handle high-pressure attack sounds without distortion. It also uses the same transformer as the vintage model of the C414 series condenser microphone, which is renowned for its warm sound. Impedance matching is also ensured.
The D12 VR is equipped with an active filter that allows you to adjust the sound quality to suit the situation with a single switch. By supplying 48V phantom voltage, you can select from the following EQ modes.
- Open kick drum mode: Attenuates the mid-range and boosts the low range, emphasizing the power of the bass drum.
- Vintage Sound Mode: Attenuates the mid-range to maintain a good balance with other instruments.
- Closed kick drum mode: Attenuates the mid-range and boosts the low and high frequencies to emphasize the presence of the bass drum.
The switch is equipped with an LED, so you can see the selected mode at a glance. By turning the active filter off, the microphone can also be used to capture vocals or bass.
The D12 VR is designed, manufactured, and assembled in Vienna, Austria. Each tested microphone is uniquely serial-numbered and includes a frequency response data sheet. The microphone itself has an integrated stand adapter that allows it to be attached directly to a microphone stand, ensuring precise placement in the desired location.
