About Universal Audio
In 1999, Bill Putnum Sr.'s sons, Bill Jr. and James Putnum, inherited the DNA of legendary studio engineer Bill Putnum Sr. and re-established Universal Audio, reviving classic instruments and bringing them back to life in the modern era. This resurrection of Universal Audio was a response to the passionate demand from many engineers who loved vintage equipment from that time and wanted to be able to purchase them new.

The brothers went beyond simply reproducing hardware and took on the challenge of adapting these classic instruments to modern digital environments, successfully recreating vintage analog gear in meticulous detail. This was achieved by thoroughly analyzing existing authentic equipment and emulating it at the circuit level. The UAD system, which combines an analog mind with a digital brain, is an essential part of the modern music production environment.

In addition, the company's recent entry into the MI equipment and microphone market for guitarists has significantly expanded its user base.
