Description

CAT'S Factory, the makers of the "AT-222" series of effect pedals, which have been highly praised by Akira Takasaki of LOUDNESS, have released a long-awaited overdrive pedal!

The AT-222 series is used by Akira Takasaki on stage and in a variety of other situations, and has been well received by fans and many other guitarists for its high level of perfection.
The lineup has included a clean booster, a distortion, and a 3-in-1 fixed wah + distortion + feather, but the long-awaited overdrive pedal has finally arrived!

The AT-222OD is set to low gain and has four controls: gain, volume, bass, and treble, making it a so-called "transparent" overdrive.
If you use a humbucker as a booster with a 4-input amp like a Marshall, you can get the old hard rock sound, while if you use it with a single-coil guitar and a clean Fender-type amp, it will output a pleasant blues sound.
Between the gain and volume there is a three-mode clipping switch, with "I" providing a smooth, harmonic sound, "N" providing a faithful sound to the original with little compression, and "II" providing a sound with emphasis on the mid-range.
All positions produce a sound that clearly captures the picking attack and string texture, allowing you to fine-tune the sound depending on the guitar and amp you use and the genre you play.
Of course, like the previous AT-222 series, it uses a true bypass system, so the original sound is not compromised when the effect is turned off, and it also features low noise.

Several prototypes of the AT-222OD have been incorporated into Takasaki's effects board and have been used for testing purposes, including on LOUDNESS tours. By using it on tour, the final product was refined to suit Takasaki's preferences.

CAT'S Factory pedals are used by leading guitarists and bassists, including Takasaki and Masayoshi Yamashita, but because they are manufactured and sold only upon direct orders from users, new pedals are rarely found in music stores.
The limited edition version released on July 7, 2022, featured a cabinet incorporating the cover design of LOUDNESS's 40th anniversary commemorative album, SUNBURST ~ Gamushara. However, this regular model is based on a beautiful emerald green that evokes the tropics, and features an impactful design by Kamigaki of IC4DESIGN, who was also responsible for the cover of SUNBURST ~ Gamushara.
Of course, this model will also be sold exclusively at Ikebe Musical Instruments, with the cooperation of Akira Takasaki and CAT'S Factory.
Don't miss this opportunity to incorporate the sound of this legendary guitarist!
