Description
Description
The Pitch Fork can transpose the pitch of your instrument over a range of +/- 3 octaves, and can play it pitch up, down, or up and down simultaneously in three modes. The amount of pitch shift can be selected with the Shift knob, or controlled in real time with an expression pedal or CV controller.
The controls are easy to understand and intuitive. The 11-position Shift switch selects the note to be shifted: Detune, Minor 2nd, Major 2nd, Major 3rd, Perfect 4th, Perfect 5th, Major 6th, Minor 7th, 1 Octave, 2 Octaves, or 3 Octaves. The 3-position toggle switch selects pitch up, down, or simultaneous up and down. In Dual mode, the unit outputs two pitch-shifted signals. One signal is modulated similarly to Up mode with the Shift knob, while the other signal follows it to create harmony. A variety of settings are possible, including Major 3rd UP + Perfect 5th UP, Perfect 5th UP + 1 Octave Down, and 1 Octave Up + 1 Octave Down. The Blend knob adjusts the mix between the dry signal and the effected signal. An EXP jack is also provided, allowing you to use an expression pedal to control pitch and glissando. The Latch button toggles between latch mode and momentary mode. This button affects how the footswitch and EXP input behave. In latch mode, the footswitch toggles between effect on and bypass. The EXP input allows the connected device to change the pitch shift amount from unity to the pitch set by the Shift knob. In momentary mode, the effect is on only while the footswitch is pressed, and returns to bypass when the footswitch is released. The EXP input allows the connected device to control the glissando rate of the Pitch Fork's footswitch. Glissando rate is the time it takes to reach the pitch set by the Shift knob. When the footswitch is pressed, the glissando rate changes from bypass to the pitch setting, and when the footswitch is released, the pitch returns to unity at the same rate. The glissando time varies between 4ms and 2 seconds, depending on the heel-toe position of the expression pedal. The default glissando rate is 60ms when nothing is plugged into the EXP input. The Pitch Fork comes with an EHX 9.6 DC-200mA adapter, but can also be powered by a 9V battery.
