Description
Yamaha has been developing many original models with a strong, distinctive character since the dawn of Japanese guitar production in the 1960s. In particular, since the 1970s, they have produced hit models such as the SG and BB, which have earned high praise both domestically and internationally, especially among Japanese vintage fans.
The model we have in stock this time is the "SF-3000" after the model change, and judging from the dating in various places, it appears to have been manufactured around 1980.
【body】
The overall weight is approximately 3.3 kg. The Peace alder body has been redesigned to look sharper. The body color is red sunburst, a classic Yamaha color. There are signs of wear, such as scratches, dents, and discoloration on the metal parts, but the paint itself retains its luster and is in relatively good condition considering its age. The arm bar and back panel are missing.
【neck】
The neck is made of maple with a rosewood fingerboard and a set neck joint. The tuners are missing the back panel for the 4th string, but the winding is consistent and works well. We have repaired any loose fretboard around the 1st to 3rd frets, re-glued the frets, and adjusted the frets. The nut has also been replaced, resulting in excellent playability. The nut width is approximately 43.8mm. The neck features a slim, sleek shape.
[Electrical system]
The controls are very simple: 1 volume/1 tone. The tone pot has been replaced, but the push-push bi-sound system remains intact. The hole on the body appears to have been slightly enlarged to accommodate the pot's size. The pickup is a single "F-III" humbucker, and while it's a simple configuration, you can enjoy a variety of sounds by combining it with the bi-sound system.
