Description

The Jazzmaster debuted in 1958. Its original specs were released until the late 1970s, and it never achieved stable popularity or sales. However, advances in replacement parts allowed for a wider range of arrangements, and its popularity soared again. Today, it's widely seen in professional settings, and is popular with people of all ages and genders as a guitar that can be used in real-world situations. It certainly feels like it's become a major model in the guitar world.

This time we have a slab rosewood fingerboard from the 1962 period. This is a rare guitar that is becoming less and less common on the market.

【body】
The total weight is approximately 3.7 kg. The two-piece alder body is finished in a sophisticated three-tone sunburst color with a moderately faded reddish finish. The guitar exhibits weather checking appropriate for its age, scratches and paint chipping throughout, paint chipping from a belt buckle, aging shrinkage on the pickguard, and tarnish on the metal parts, all of which contribute to its charming vintage guitar feel. Some of the bridge saddle height adjustment screws have been replaced.

【neck】
The neck is made of maple, and the fingerboard is made of slab-laminated (flat) rosewood, a renowned gem. From the headstock to the back of the neck, there's some fading to the paint and tarnish on the metal parts due to age, but like the body, it's in excellent condition. The back of the neck has some paint wear from use, giving it a smooth, vintage feel. The tuners are Kluson Deluxe single-line tuners, and while there's some variation in winding tightness, they function well. The frets and nut were replaced at our shop, and playability is excellent. The headstock is 14.0mm thick, and the nut width is 42.0mm. The neck features a sturdy shape typical of this period.

[Electrical system]
The controls are comprised of two sections, familiar to Jazzmasters: a 3-way pickup selector, master volume, and master tone control, and a neck (front) pickup preset mode switch, preset volume, and preset tone. The pickups retain the original black bobbin pickups. Coupled with the thickness of the neck, the tone is both thick and lustrous. Many people are probably looking for this sound in their old Jazzmasters.
