Description
Description
The model we have in stock this time is the "AE-1200," which appears to have been manufactured around 1978. It debuted in the catalog in 1979, making it the first model from that year.
【body】
The overall weight is approximately 3.5 kg. The body top is made of solid spruce, a testament to Yamaha's commitment to quality. The finish is antique stain. There was a crack on the body top between the pickups, which was repaired with glue at our shop. There are scratches, dents, and discoloration of the metal parts throughout. The pickguard is also missing.
【neck】
The neck is made of maple and the fingerboard is made of striped ebony. There is a small dent the size of a grain of rice on the back of the neck near the second fret, but other than that there is no noticeable damage and it is in relatively good condition. The tuners are slightly unevenly wound but still function properly. The frets and nut have only slight wear and playability is good. The nut width is approximately 43.2mm. The neck shape has a good width and a thin thickness, providing a good grip.
[Electrical system]
The controls are a 2-volume, 2-tone, and 3-way pickup selector switch, and the tone pot is equipped with Yamaha's traditional Bi-Sound System. The pickups are two "EI" pickups exclusive to the AE model, and the "53.10.31/53.10.12" stamp on the back of the pickups indicates that they were made in 1978. The clear tone delivers a rich, full-bodied resonance.
