Description
Description
The biggest feature of Mayones' "Hydara" model is its headless structure, which is immediately obvious!
The Elite VF FSH model we're introducing this time uses the same wood materials as the Hydra Elite, but the neck features multi-scale fan frets and comes standard with Fishman's Fluence Modern pickups, making it a truly modern model.
The six-point bolt-on structure with a neck joint that has a large contact area between the body and neck increases the tightness of the fit between the body and neck, allowing the vibrations caused by picking to be transmitted efficiently from the body to the neck. This allows for the solid, natural resonance and crisp, responsive sound that are characteristic of bolt-on guitars to be retained, while also producing ample sustain.
The neck is a 5-ply laminated neck made primarily of wenge wood, allowing you to enjoy the heavy, hard, and sharp sound that only wenge can produce, as well as the quick picking response produced by the strong 5-ply neck.
Also, because it is a multi-scale, the scale on the 6th string side is longer than the 1st string side, which means that the tension on the bass side is stronger, making it suitable for tunings such as drop and down tunings where there is a lack of tension on the bass side.
As you can see, the headless design not only makes the instrument more compact and lightweight by eliminating the need for a head, but also eliminates resonance at the head, reducing the chance of sound vibrations clashing and allowing picking vibrations to be transmitted smoothly between the body and neck, eliminating dead spots and resulting in a more balanced sound. The metal part with the Mayones logo attached to the end of the neck is not just decorative; it adds mass to the headless design, which has no head mass, improving sustain.
The pickups are FISHMAN Fluence Modern humbuckers. Fluence pickups, with their coilless design, are completely different from conventional pickups, resulting in a pure, noiseless tone. The volume knob allows you to switch between Voice 1 and Voice 2 with a push/pull, allowing you to change the sound character, expanding the variety of sounds available. Combined with the coil tap on the lever switch, this allows for a wide range of sound creations.
The body end structure has a distinctive design look, but it also serves to make it difficult to touch the tuner while playing, preventing accidental operation, and has been designed from both a design and functional perspective.
*As for the condition, there are no dents or other damage to the frets, and more than 80% of the frets remain. There is also ample room for the truss rod.
The electrical system is also in good condition, and although there are some minor scratches and some peeling and clouding of the plating on the metal parts, the unit is generally in relatively good condition.
*Please refer to the photos for any particularly noticeable scratches.
