The Empress Effects Tape Delay offers sound quality and an overwhelmingly superior signal-to-noise ratio, surpassing that of the high-end Vintage Modified Superdelay. This delay pedal recreates the deep, organic echo sound of vintage analog tape.
The unique three-position [tape age] control meticulously reproduces the organic and beautiful sound of vintage tape echo machines, offering three different types of personality: new = clear delay sound, vintage = thick and warm sound that reproduces the unique "fluctuation" of analog tape echo, and old = powerful and dark delay sound that even reproduces the dirt on the tape heads.
The high-pass and low-pass filters and modulation functions dramatically expand the range of sound creation possibilities, while the advanced setting mode and internal jumper settings allow for detailed sound refinement.
Of course, it also supports tap tempo delay time input, a feature unique to Empress! The RATIO setting allows you to quickly set things like dotted eighth note delays just by tapping the tempo.
In addition, the small body is packed with features to support professional performances, such as delay cut and mute (so the delay sound doesn't overlap when changing chords!), reproduction of tape head movement when adjusting the delay time, effective octave up and down delay sounds, headroom adjustment, and switching between buffered bypass and true bypass.
You can also toggle between up to three presets, and save settings such as delay time and mode switch as presets.
The analog dry path signal is mixed into the delay sound, resulting in a truly analog-like sound. You can enjoy a thick, smooth, organic, beautiful analog sound that is hard to believe is coming from a modern device.
