Description

CAT'S Factory, the makers of the AT-222 series of effects pedals that have been highly praised by LOUDNESS's Akira Takasaki, have released a distortion pedal to commemorate LOUDNESS's 40th anniversary!

The AT-222 series is used by Akira Takasaki on stage and in a variety of other situations, and has been well received by fans and many other guitarists for its high level of perfection.
CAT'S Factory, the manufacturer of the AT-222 series, has finally released the KARMA distortion pedal commemorating LOUDNESS's 40th anniversary, featuring an illustration that will appeal to fans!
The images have already been posted on Twitter and are becoming a hot topic among fans.

The striking illustrations, designed by Hirofumi Kamigaki of Hiroshima-based IC4DESIGN, are available in two types: "Explosion," which depicts Akira Takasaki as a character in the style of American comics, and "Scream," which personifies Akira Takasaki's aggressive sound.
This is a perfect item to commemorate the 40th anniversary, whether you add it to your own effects board or keep it as part of your collection.

As an effect, it follows the model of the already released AT-222D 8I-II0 distortion pedal, but does not have a 3-mode switch, making it a simple distortion pedal.
There are also some slight changes in sound; compared to the AT-222D 8I-II0 distortion, which had audio-like resolution, the KARMA has a moderate lo-fi quality that is more "guitar effect-like" in a good way.
Of course, the basic performance is very good, so the gain control has a wide range, from a light crunch to a high-gain sound that can even be used for leads, but it doesn't distort or crush the core of the sound, and is characterized by a natural sound that sounds like it's been distorted by an amplifier.
In addition, the tone can be adjusted over a wide range, from rough, gritty distortion to a rounded, mild sound, so with simple controls for gain, tone, and volume, it is possible to create sounds that are suitable for a variety of genres, not just hard rock and heavy metal. It can also be used not only as a distortion pedal, but also as an overdrive-like booster to produce an outstanding sound.
Of course, like the previous AT-222 series, it uses a true bypass system, so the original sound is not compromised when the effect is turned off, and it also features low noise.

Developed and manufactured with the primary goal of sound quality and ease of use that Akira Takasaki would expect to be suitable for both stage and recording, it is a pricey distortion pedal, but that is precisely why it is a reliable and powerful ally if you own one.

CAT'S Factory pedals are used by leading guitarists and bassists, including Takasaki and Masayoshi Yamashita, but because they are manufactured and sold only to direct orders from users, new pedals are not available in music stores, and the AT-222 series is only sold at a limited number of music stores.

This KARMA has been at Akira Takasaki's feet since the ATE (Akira Takasaki & Evolution) tour held in June 2021 and is already in great use.
As a LOUDNESS 40th anniversary commemorative item, it also features the official 40th anniversary logo, and because of this, items with the official logo will only be produced in the 40th anniversary year, making it a must-have item for fans.
Please take this opportunity to consider it!

*Since the painting is done entirely by hand, there may be slight differences in the finish for each unit.
*For serial numbers 21 and above, the sides and bottom of the case will have a semi-gloss finish. Please note that you cannot specify the serial number or finish.
