Description

Carefully selected consignment items (sales on behalf of customers)

Named after the satellite launched in 1958, the Gibson Explorer was introduced that same year. Only 22 examples of this original model were produced in the late 1950s, and due to its limited production run, it is now considered one of the rarest items.

This latest arrival is a reproduction of the mid-1970s model. Its basic specifications include a mahogany body, white pickguard, and gold hardware, making it a popular choice for many artists.

【body】
The overall weight is approximately 4.2 kg. The body is made of mahogany. The distinctive, distinctive body shape is finished in a wine red color. There is some weather checking, dents, and some peeling and tarnish on the metal parts, but the guitar is in relatively good condition. The control knobs and strap pin have been replaced. A non-slip sheet has been applied to the narrow right side of the body.

【neck】
The neck is a one-piece mahogany with a long tenon set neck. The fingerboard is rosewood. There is some weather checking at the headstock joint and some tarnish on the metal parts, but like the body, it is in excellent condition. The tuners function well with only slight variations in winding. While this is a time when lower frets are being adopted, there are no significant dents and the playability is excellent. The nut width is 43.5mm. The neck shape is relatively sturdy.

[Electrical system]
The controls are 3-way pickup select, neck (front) pickup volume, bridge (rear) pickup volume, and master tone. Equipped with period-engraved numbered pickups, the controls are in pristine condition. The combination of powerful pickups and vintage mahogany wood produces a powerful, articulate rock sound.
