FAQ

Description

This limited edition model consists of four effects, from the input side: AT-2222 (clean booster), AT-222OD (overdrive), AT-222Vi (vibrato), and AT-222De (delay).
The heart of the unit is the overdrive circuit, which comes in a limited edition version (limited quantities sold out) that incorporates the cover design of LOUDNESS's 40th anniversary album "SUNBURST ~ Gamushara," and a regular version that features the AT logo. The circuit incorporates the AT-222OD, which has received rave reviews for both its design and sound.
The AT-222OD is set to low gain and has four controls: gain, volume, bass, and treble, making it a so-called ``transparent'' type.
If you use a humbucker as a booster with a 4-input amp like a Marshall, you can get the old hard rock sound, while if you use it with a single-coil guitar and a clean Fender-type amp, it will output a pleasant blues sound.
Between the gain and volume there is a three-mode clipping switch, with "I" providing a smooth, harmonic sound, "N" providing a faithful sound to the original with little compression, and "II" providing a sound with emphasis on the mid-range.
All positions produce a sound that clearly captures the picking attack and string texture, allowing you to fine-tune the sound depending on the guitar and amp you use and the genre you play.

The clean booster before the overdrive is a new version of the clean booster "AT-2222" designed to match the AT-222OD, and is equipped with a BOOST knob and a BELLTONE knob.
This BELLTONE is a control that adjusts harsh high frequencies, and when combined with the AT-222ODCB overdrive or an amplifier, it allows for detailed sound creation.

The vibrato "AT-222Vi" at the end of the overdrive stage has a more uni-vibe-like nuance than the phaser built into the 3-in-1 limited edition "AT-222PDW," and a mini switch allows you to switch between two modes: "60'" and "Mod."
"60'" produces a harsh vibrato effect with a lot of distortion, while "Mod" produces a clearer sound with less distortion than "60'".

The final stage is equipped with a delay, the AT-222De, a first for CAT'S FACTORY.
Although it has simple controls and is not multifunctional, the thick, warm delay sound that even Mr. Takasaki was impressed with is very pleasant and will give the sound just the right amount of spaciousness.

Of course, all of them can be used individually, so they can be used in a variety of situations, not only with a clean amp setting but also with a slightly crunched setting or in combination with other distortion pedals.
In addition, all effect sections use a true bypass system, just like the previous AT-222 series, so the original sound is not compromised when the effect is turned off, and it also features low noise.
