A unique drive pedal developed from the Longsword.
Dagger is a model that extracts the drive circuit from the Longsword and creates a simpler overdrive pedal.
While retaining the gain stage and dual-band shelving EQ that are central to the sound, the unit has evolved to be more compact and more flexible for use in a variety of situations.
Despite its small size, it retains the versatility and dynamic sound of its parent unit, and also acquires Dagger's unique character.
This heart-stirring, melancholy, and fast-paced fuzz tone is a special gift that can only be enjoyed with this unit.
Overview
Dagger is a simple pedal designed to accommodate only the distortion section of EAE's signature drive pedal, Longsword.
The wide gain range that can be tuned from clean boost to massive distortion and the filter that precisely shapes the sound are retained, and the EAE-branded, aggressive drive sound resonates loudly.
It is versatile enough to be used in many genres, but it also pairs exceptionally well with melancholic tension chords and arpeggio phrases.
The Dagger is a miniature version of the Longsword, but with a unique sound.
During the design process, EAE discovered that early versions of Longsword had low headroom, causing the EQ controls to overload the output stage, resulting in a distinctive fuzz sound.
Although this is different from the traditional tone that is generally sought after, EAE fell in love with the rough and impulsive texture and decided to incorporate it into their designs.
With Dagger, pushing the parameters will produce a distinctive fuzz.
Dagger's true essence lies in his emotional sound, filled with sadness and passion.
■Controls
-Volume: Output volume -Drive: Turn clockwise to increase the amount of overdrive -Low/High: James/Baxandall style tone EQ. Shelving filter.
・Shift (toggle): Sets the low frequency contour. Up is thicker, down is tighter.
■Specifications
Bypass: Relay switching, true bypass Input impedance @ 1 kHz: 500kΩ
・Output impedance @ 1 Khz:＜25K (passive volume control)
・Power: 9V DC, 2.1 mm center negative, 50mA.
A regulated, isolated power supply of 100mA or greater is recommended. Battery operation is not possible.
