Description
Description
ATELIER Z has garnered overwhelming support from many bassists, both professional and amateur, especially those who specialize in slap playing. The flagship model, M#245, was created as a signature model for leading Japanese bassist Tomohito Aoki, and due to its high level of perfection, it remains the go-to model for many users as an all-around active JB model.
The carefully selected two-piece ash body and dense maple neck combine to produce a powerful, crisp tone. Experience the classic "V-shaped" sound, with a unique character like no other. The controls include treble and bass boost (2-band EQ), but the back panel also reveals a mid-cut trim, allowing you to fine-tune the sound to your liking.
The ATELIER Z original JBZ-4 pickups deliver a clear and powerful output, clearly capturing the attack characteristic of slap playing. The preamp is equipped with a Bartorini XTCT, delivering the powerful, compressed, and thumping Atelier Z sound in the low-mid range, truly reminiscent of Aoki himself. The use of spectrum boost wiring ensures a more powerful, impactful sound pressure without compromising the sound's character. The EQ section also features a center detent (50% boost), allowing for more precise control of the knob position.
This model boasts reliable quality and materials that can keep up with the wide range of high-end amplifiers. It's versatile enough for a wide range of styles, from slap to fingerpicking and picking, making it ideal for session players looking for a ready-to-play active guitar.
