Description
Fender's first solid-body electric bass, the Precision Bass, was born and released in 1951. Following the success of the Precision Bass, the Jazz Bass was released later, and it continues to influence the music scene today.
The item we have in stock this time is a sunburst colored alder body/maple fingerboard item shipped around 1973.
【body】
The overall weight is approximately 3.7 kg. The body is made of alder. The three-tone sunburst color retains a nice reddish hue. The "Fender Thick-Skin High-Gloss" finish used at this time exhibits characteristic weather checking, paint chipping around the elbow contour and finger rest, aging shrinkage of the pickguard, belt buckle marks, and tarnish on the metal parts, resulting in excellent condition and a vintage instrument feel. The finger rest has been replaced. The metal covers are missing.
【neck】
The neck is made of one-piece maple. There is weather checking and dents around the headstock, as well as rust and tarnish on the metal parts, but the condition is relatively good. The tuners are slightly loose, but still function properly. The frets and nut have been replaced in our shop and filed down with a PLEK machine, ensuring excellent playability. The fingerboard and back of the neck have been repainted along with the refret. The headstock is 15.2mm thick. The nut width is 41.1mm, equivalent to a B-neck. The neck shape has a relatively clean appearance.
[Electrical system]
The controls are classic P-bass style (master volume/master tone). The pickups and other controls are in pristine condition. The rich low-mids, taking advantage of the wood, and the overall tone are well-balanced, making this a very user-friendly instrument.
