Description
Description
A fixed wah made by CAT'S Factory that has received high praise from Akira Takasaki of LOUDNESS!
The CAT'S Factory signature pedal "AT-222" series is a favorite of Akira Takasaki, who uses it on stage and in a variety of other situations.
Introducing the first fixed wah pedal in the series that is not a booster/distortion model!
While it is possible to produce a fixed (half-stop) wah sound with a regular wah pedal, it is extremely difficult to produce the same half-stop sound every time without restricting the wah pedal's function (pedal range of motion), and this is almost impossible with a switchless wah pedal or one whose pedal movement has become loose due to use.
On the other hand, a fixed-type wah not only produces the same sound every time, but can also be turned on and off instantly, so there is no need to operate the pedal precisely with your foot while performing on stage.
Of course, you can also use it in a tricky way by combining it with a regular wah pedal.
The AT-222FW has the same matte black finish as the 6-knob "Live or Die," with a wah control knob located in the upper left and Takasaki's "AT" logo printed in a blue gradient to the right of the center.
The fixed wah was originally built into the limited edition model "AT-222PTW" released on February 22, 2022, but for this release as a standalone pedal, further improvements have been made to the sound.
Tuned to suit Takasaki's tastes, from sweet tones to peaky and sharp sounds, it produces an exquisite tone that is indispensable for hard rock, whether you leave it on all the time and use it as an EQ, or turn it on during solos.
CAT'S Factory pedals are used by leading guitarists and bassists, including Takasaki and Masayoshi Yamashita, but because they are manufactured and sold only to direct orders from users, new pedals are not available in music stores, and the AT-222 series is only sold at a limited number of music stores.
In recent years, due to significant increases in the cost of raw materials used in effects pedals and transportation costs, this has become a pricey item for a fixed wah, but its sound quality will satisfy not only fans but also many guitarists.
Please try it at the store!
*Since each unit is made entirely by hand, there may be slight individual differences in the finish of the casing, etc.
