Aside from the Sunburst Standard produced from 1958 to 1960, it was the last variation to appear among the original 1950s Les Paul models. Developed as a higher-end model than the Les Paul Junior, it featured two P-90 pickups for increased sonic versatility. Furthermore, it boasted a bound fretboard and a mother-of-pearl headstock logo, resulting in a more refined design. In 1958, the body shape was changed from single-cutaway to double-cutaway, improving access to the upper frets. In 1960, the neck profile was changed to a slim taper profile and the neck pickup position was repositioned, further enhancing playability.

We are pleased to announce the release of the Epiphone 1960 Les Paul Special Double Cut Reissue, a faithful reproduction of the rare 1960 Les Paul Special Double Cut, as part of the Inspired by Gibson Custom series.
This model features a flat mahogany body and a double-cutaway design that provides excellent access to the entire fretboard.
