869668
Rogers VINTAGE 60s Dyna-sonic Snare Drum COB 14×5
[A Rogers Dyna-Sonic snare drum, believed to have been manufactured in the 1960s, has arrived!]

-Rogers Drums-

Founded in 1849 as an American manufacturer of calfskin drumheads, Rogers Drums began manufacturing drums around the 1930s.

They introduced cutting-edge drum manufacturing techniques and hardware to the world, and made significant strides, especially from the mid-1950s to the 1970s, becoming a central figure among American drum manufacturers.

Its superior sound and functionality have made it a favorite among drummers across a wide range of genres, from jazz and classic rock to big band drummers like Buddy Rich.

Featuring an innovative snare wire tension adjustment mechanism, the "Dyna-Sonic" snare drum is known as a model that symbolizes Rogers' superior mechanical design technology.

Furthermore, the "Swiv-o-Matic" series hardware, which incorporated highly innovative ideas for its time, was adopted by many top artists, including Ringo Starr, John Bonham, and Keith Moon, as part of their kits.

-Dyna-Sonic-

The Dyna-Sonic, an iconic model from Rogers Drums, first appeared around 1961.

Buddy Rich, who was using a Rogers at the time, was looking for his ideal snare drum.

"A drum whose snare wires react to even the slightest touch, yet can withstand hard shots."

It was developed over nearly three years, requiring an enormous amount of effort, in order to achieve this goal.

The most distinctive feature of the Dyna-Sonic is its strainer and snare frame, which are equipped with an innovative snare wire tension adjustment mechanism.

With typical strainers, increasing the snare wire tension to achieve a "dry" or "crispy" sound often resulted in excessive pressure on the drumhead, causing choking that suppressed the head's vibration.

In contrast, the Dyna-Sonic snare frame allows for independent adjustment of both the tension of the snare wire itself and the force pressing the snare wire against the bottom head.

This allows for increased wire tension without suppressing head vibration, resulting in excellent sensitivity across the entire head. The frame itself allows for a wide range of snare settings, from "dry" to "loose."

The Dyna-Sonic is a drum that solves problems that were previously "unsolvable."

In addition to this revolutionary adjustment mechanism, it incorporated advanced technologies for its time, such as an extremely shallow snare bed design. Furthermore, brass was used for the shell material, which offers a wide range of tonal possibilities.

As a result, you can always hear the stroke sound smoothly, from soft to full shots, achieving a clear and crisp sound. The sound never becomes muddy, and it exhibits a supple touch and excellent dynamic range, resulting in a musical sound.

With its superior functionality and sound, the Dyna-Sonic remains Rogers Drums' flagship model to this day.

[Specifications]

Diameter x Depth: 14 inches x 5 inches

Shell: Brass (chrome plated finish)

Hoops: Triple flanged steel hoops / 10 tension

Strainer: Swiv-o-Matic strainer & Dyna-Sonic snare frame

Other features: Inner mute included

*Two snare wires are missing.
*Please note that this is a vintage item and may have scratches, stains, etc.
