871238
Fender USA VINTAGE Precision Bass '75 Alder Body Sunburst/M
Carefully selected consigned items (items sold on your behalf)

The Fender Precision Bass, the company's first solid-body electric bass guitar, was born and released in 1951. Following the success of the Precision Bass, the Jazz Bass was released later, and both continue to influence the music scene today.

This latest shipment includes an alder-bodied guitar shipped around 1975. Its stylish sunburst finish is particularly appealing.

【body】
The overall weight is relatively light at approximately 3.8 kg. The body is made of alder. This guitar features a beautiful sunburst color with a nice reddish gradient and a black pickguard. The body finish from this period is "Fender Thick-Skin High-Gloss," which uses polyester as a base coat. There is some weather checking commensurate with its age, paint peeling around the elbow contour, paint peeling on the back from a belt buckle, dents, cracks in the pickguard, and tarnishing of the metal parts, but it is in good condition with a vintage feel. The pole pieces of the pickups have been coated with paint to prevent contact noise. The strap pins have been replaced. The finger rest and metal covers are missing.

【neck】
The neck and fingerboard are made of one-piece maple. The fingerboard surface was repainted during a previous refret. From the headstock to the neck, there is some age-appropriate weather checking, dents, and tarnishing of the metal parts, but like the body, it is in good condition with a nice vintage feel. The tuners have been replaced with GOTOH reverse-wound tuners, and there is not much variation in the winding tension, so they function properly. The frets and nut have been replaced once, and although there is some wear, there is no extreme buzzing, and the playability is good. The headstock thickness is 15.3mm. The nut width is 41.6mm. It has a sturdy, thick neck shape.

[Electrical System]
The controls are the standard master volume/master tone. The pickups are the original gray bobbin type. The tone pot has been replaced with one from 1976, but the control parts are relatively well-preserved in their original condition.

The combination of an alder body and maple neck results in a sound that is characterized by the thick core tone and rich mid-low frequencies typical of a Precision Bass, along with a clear attack and defined shape. When the tone is rolled back, a warm, cohesive sound in the mid-low range is obtained, giving it a wide range of expressive capabilities that are reminiscent of the bass sounds that supported the music scene of the 1970s.

Accessories: General-purpose gig bag

Weight: 3.8kg
Body Material: Alder (3 pieces)
Neck Material/Scale Length: Maple 1 piece/864.0mm (34inch)
Fingerboard/Fret Marker/Radius: Maple 1 piece/Black dot/184.15mm (7.25inch)
Nut Width/Fret Size: 41.6mm (replaced)/2.7mm (replaced), 20 Fret
Neck Thickness (1F/7F/12F): 21.6mm/23.6mm/24.7mm
Capacitor: Dielectron CircleD 100V
Pickup: Fender Precision Bass Split Pickup Gray Bobbin (10.3kΩ)
*The DC resistance value of the pickup is measured after passing through the control section.

Heartman Vintage Guitars is a specialty store for vintage guitars and basses operated by Ikebe Musical Instruments.
