Its rich sound, unexpected from its small body, quickly made it a beloved model. At that time, models with maple backs and sides, as well as LG-2s with mahogany tops, were also produced. The round-profile mahogany neck is set to the body with a compound dovetail joint. The neck is fitted with a rosewood fingerboard without binding. It is made with 20 frets and features elegant and simple mother-of-pearl dot inlays. The bridge is made of rosewood and is a rectangular bridge with a gently sloping design. The bridge groove is a closed-slot type for use with a piezo pickup. It features a bone saddle and TUSQ(R) bridge pins.
