857404
Fender USA VINTAGE Jazzmaster '59 Anodized Aluminum Pickguard Blond/R
The Jazzmaster debuted in 1958. During its original release period until the late 1970s, it didn't enjoy consistently stable popularity or sales. However, advancements in replacement parts broadened its versatility, leading to a resurgence in popularity. Today, it's a guitar widely seen in professional settings and enjoys widespread popularity across all ages and genders as a practical instrument. It has truly become a major model in the guitar world.

This particular guitar, shipped around 1959, is an extremely rare and valuable piece packed with unusual specifications, including an original ash body/blonde finish, an anodized aluminum pickguard, and a slab rosewood fingerboard.

【body】
The total weight is approximately 3.6 kg. The swamp ash body is painted in a deep blonde color typical of the 1950s. There is a date of "11/58" below the rear pickup, and it appears to have been converted to a 3-pickup configuration at one point, as there is a routing near the center and evidence that the pickguard was replaced with a 13-hole one. However, the shape of the original cavity routing is clearly that of the 9-hole era. There is some weather checking, dents, touch-up marks on scratches, paint peeling from a belt buckle, and some rust and tarnish on the metal parts, which are appropriate for its age, but it is in relatively good condition and one of its charms is the wonderful atmosphere of a vintage guitar.

【neck】
The neck is made of maple. The fingerboard is made of the renowned and superb rosewood, in a slab (flat) construction. The brand logo on the headstock has lost its model name, but the spaghetti logo and the distinctive Jazzmaster mark remain. Due to paint wear from use on the back of the neck, it has a smooth, vintage feel. Other scratches around the headstock, age-appropriate weather checking, and tarnishing on the metal parts are visible, giving it a lovely vintage instrument feel, just like the body. The tuners have some slight inconsistency in winding feel, but they function properly. The frets and nut have been replaced, and the fingerboard has been adjusted to a compound radius, gradually loosening from 7.25 inches near the lower frets towards the end, resulting in excellent playability. The headstock thickness is 13.8mm, and the nut width is 42.3mm. It features a relatively solid neck shape.

[Electrical System]
The controls consist of two sections, the familiar Jazzmaster configuration: a 3-way pickup selector, master volume, and master tone, and a neck (front) pickup preset mode switch, preset volume, and preset tone. The pickups retain their original black bobbins. The control components, including the pickups, are in the same condition as they were at the time.

With its wide, flat coil structure, this guitar boasts a clear, well-defined tone with depth, complemented by the combination of anodized aluminum pickguard and swamp ash body, resulting in a sound characterized by sparkling, rich harmonics and a crisp attack. The neck pickup delivers a warm, sweet jazz tone, while the bridge pickup provides a sharp, edgy sound. Switching to the preset circuit instantly brings up darker, mellower tones, offering versatile expressive capabilities.

Accessories: Fender tweed hard case

Weight: 3.6g
Body Material：Ash w/Anodized Aluminum Pickguard 9 hole
Neck Material/Scale: Maple 1 piece/648mm (25-1/2inch)
Fingerboard/Fret Marker/Radius: Rosewood flat (Slab) laminate/Clay dot/ 184.15~304.8mm (7.25~12inch)
Nut Width/Fret Size (width): 42.3mm (replaced)/2.7mm (replaced)
Neck Thickness (1F/7F/12F): 19.8mm/22.7mm/24.3mm
Pickup (Neck/Bridge): Fender Jazzmaster Black Bobbin (6.55kΩ/6.85kΩ)
*The DC resistance value of the pickup is measured through the control section.

Heartman Vintage Guitars is a specialty store for vintage guitars and basses operated by Ikebe Musical Instruments.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0638/4173/0673/files/VINTAGE_Jazzmaster__59_Anodized_Aluminum_Pickguard_Blond_R_01.jpg?v=1777704233
