853963
Fender USA VINTAGE Esquire '61 Blond/R
Carefully selected consigned items (items sold on your behalf)

Debuting in 1950 as the Broadcaster, the Telecaster has since reigned alongside the Stratocaster as one of Fender's flagship guitar models. Along with the Esquire, a single-pickup version released at the same time, it continues to be loved by many guitarists and artists around the world.

This time we have a 1961 Esquire with a slab rosewood fingerboard. It's a very rare instrument with superb materials.

【body】
The total weight is approximately 3.1kg. The body is made of ash. The original blonde color was once oversprayed with a wine-red color, which was then removed and the guitar was returned to its original blonde color (there are remnants of the original color in areas with dents, etc., from before the overspray). It's nice that the body thickness is still firmly in the 45.0mm range. Weather checking, dents and scratches, signs of use on the pickguard, paint peeling, and tarnishing on the metal parts are visible, giving it a very nice vintage feel.

【neck】
The neck is made of maple. The fingerboard is made of beautiful slab-laminated rosewood. The decal logo on the headstock is still clearly visible. There are some dents and paint chips from use on the back of the neck, and some tarnishing on the metal parts, but it is in relatively good condition overall. The tuners are Kluson Deluxe single-line tuners; there is some inconsistency in the winding, but they function properly. The frets and nut have been replaced once, and there is some slight wear, but the playability is good. The headstock thickness is 13.7mm. The nut width is 41.8mm. The neck shape is thin around the lower frets and becomes more robust towards the end.

[Electrical System]
This guitar features a single pickup configuration, but the controls are the unique switch controls of the Esquire model: preset tone mode, bridge pickup tone control, and bridge pickup direct out. The pickup is a black bobbin with a south pole top, and there are signs that the wiring has been disconnected at one point. The control parts, including the pickup, are in their original condition. The Esquire is known for its simple single-pickup configuration, which allows for excellent clarity in direct mode, but with the addition of the rich low frequencies from the slab-board era, it produces a responsive and powerful sound.

Accessories: Non-original hard case

Weight: 3.1kg
Body Material: Ash (1 piece)
Neck Material/Scale: Maple 1 piece/648mm (25-1/2inch)
Fingerboard/Fret Marker/Radius: Rosewood flat laminate/Clay dot/184.15mm (7.25inch)
Nut Width/Fret Size (width): 41.8mm (replaced)/2.3mm (replaced)
Neck Thickness (1F/7F/12F): 19.7mm/22.9mm/24.4mm
Pickup: Fender Telecaster Bridge Singlecoil staggard polepiece (6.8kΩ)
*The DC resistance value of the pickup is measured through the control section.

Heartman Vintage Guitars is a specialty store for vintage guitars and basses operated by Ikebe Musical Instruments.
