The neck, also carefully selected, is made from one-piece quarter-sawn maple, with a 9.5R fingerboard radius and tall, narrow frets. The neck grip features a 70th Anniversary Soft V shape, based on measurements taken from a guitar produced in July 1954.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e The body and neck finish is an all-lacquer finish, just like vintage models. The relic finish features irregular weather checking and paint chipping in places. The hardware includes a synchronized tremolo with PAT.PEND. stamped saddles and vintage-style Kluson tuners. This model also features a Closet Classic finish with a slight oxidation treatment.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e The pickups, which reproduce the superb natural resonance unique to custom shops, are all hand-wound. Compared to regular machine-wound pickups, they produce a richer harmonic content and an acoustic feel when output from the amplifier. This model uses the Fat 50s pickup, which has a clean sound that is both crisp and full.
