We have a beautiful used "Hydra" from FCGR (Freedom Custom Guitar Research), a pioneering company in the Japanese workshop guitar boom, founded in 1998, in stock!

Freedom Custom Guitar Research is a workshop that consistently produces extremely high-quality instruments, earning the trust of various artists, both professional and amateur.

This is a custom-ordered version of Freedom's familiar all-around model, the 'Hydra'. It's a pre-owned item in excellent condition with relatively little signs of use. The superb tonewoods and beautiful looks are eye-catching.

The total weight is 3.04kg. The orthodox body style features a premium-grade quilted maple top and an African mahogany back. The "desert" color, specially designed for this guitar, further enhances and accentuates the beautiful quilted maple grain.

Both the neck and fingerboard are made of Indian rosewood. The body is joined using the "ARIMIZO & One Point Joint" system, which features woodworking that shapes the neck pocket into an inverted V-shape and joins the body and neck with a single screw. The instrument's resonance can be adjusted by tightening the screw with the included wrench.
The tuners are GOTOH locking type with consistent winding and reliable function. The frets are FCGR's original stainless steel frets, "SP-SF-05WARM". The luminous side dot position markers are a welcome feature for live performances, and the nut width is 42.0mm. The neck shape is the "FCGR U," which is characterized by a relatively solid and comfortable neck shape.
The scale is 635mm (25 inches), which is exactly in between company G and company F.

The pickup configuration is 2H, and the controls consist of a 3-way pickup selector, humbucker coil tap switch, master volume, master tone, and push-push switch for tapping each humbucking pickup. It is equipped with two Hybrid Humbucker Type 1 pickups, which really shine with the tap control. The plugged-in sound is very clear and has a good bite to picking, and the instrument itself resonates well, backed by superb wood materials and woodworking techniques. With features such as the tap control that can change from humbucker to single-coil and the ARIMOZO joint, it is an instrument with a very wide range of tones.

*Regarding its condition, it features stainless steel frets, and there are no dents or other damage. The truss rod also has plenty of adjustment range remaining.
The electrical system is in good working order, and the unit shows relatively little signs of use, with only minor scratches and slight tarnishing on the metal parts.
